Often teen girls see all the male figures in their lives deliberately distance themselves around the time of puberty, which can be crushing. This phenomenon has now spread to young men as well, with even female teachers being suspect if they spend too much time with their male students. One-on-one connections with teens by adults are now rare, which is sad because they're so very needed.
